Camp Blanco boasts an 18 acre property that’s the perfect getaway spot for your “pod” with 2 separate homes, a bunkhouse, a game room and two camping tee-pees (13 beds total!) and tons of outdoor space to roam. We used this gorgeous space as our baby moon getaway and it was the quintessential setting to spend quality time together and enjoy the beautiful open air. This dreamy and secluded spot used to be a Girl Scout campground in the 1940’s, and you’ll see several nods to the historic space throughout the property. From The Ranger stone house, The Brownie bunk house, and The Tagalong luxury tents, you’ll feel like you’re in an adult glampground!

We stayed at The Ranger and it was the perfect setting for our baby moon. The home features detailed stonework throughout the interior and exterior, a beautiful living room with massive fireplace, lounge area, 2-bedrooms (with the comfiest king bed!) 1.5 baths, open kitchen (perfect for the chef in me) and large front porch that is ideal for slow mornings with hot coffee. The signature Feastwell bucket comes with delicious snacks from Siete Chips, Jamie’s Salsa, High Brew Coffee, Rambler Sparkling Water and more! They also include a Scrubwell by Lemi Shine bin to help keep the place tidy.

I cooked quite a bit on the vintage six burner stove top and the large kitchen table was the best setting for some wonderful long talks over homemade pizza, a big weekend brunch, and grilled burgers. The Kookaburra is the game room of my dreams! It’s actually a three car garage converted into an epic room with a pool table, shuffleboard, poker table, dart board, 85 in screen tv and large seating area. We spent hours playing games and watching basketball with the garage doors open. It’s an incredible space to gather with friends and family, especially when the weather is as perfect as it was for us (72 degrees and breezy!) It’s connected to The Brownie which is an open floor plan with 4 bunk beds, a kitchen and sitting area. So cute and quaint!

The Daisy is a vintage inspired house with 2 beds, 1 bath, cozy living room and kitchen and sits between the outdoor bathroom and The Kookaburra. We did a little walk through to see the space, but spent our time in The Ranger. While the waterfront would’ve been dreamy to see, I just couldn’t make it down there with the pregnancy pains I’m enduring - but click here to see more about the beautiful outdoor structure that sits right near the water!

If I could stay at Camp Blanco all year long, I would. The seclusion, the huge land to walk throughout, and the gorgeous housing options make it one of the best properties I’ve ever had the privilege to visit - and it was only a little over an hour away from Austin. Whether you’re looking for a weekend getaway with your significant other (and fur babies) or planning a small but safe get together, this is the destination to spend quality time with the people in your pod! I’m already thinking about heading back to Camp Blanco and showing my baby girl that this was the place where we celebrated her and our lives ahead.

I'm sure we can all agree that last year was a doozy, and while we're all excited to move forward, I did want to take a moment to recognize some accomplishments Lodgewell made over the last few months: ➡️ We launched the Lodgewell brand ➡️ Established what we stand for ➡️ Expanded into new cities ➡️ Added 4 new properties to our portfolio (see below) ➡️ Partnered with exclusive brands (see below) ➡️ Welcomed hundreds of guests safely to professionally sanitized homes ➡️ Hosted amazing media personalities ➡️ Featured in countless publications ➡️ And even transformed one of our lofts into a holiday wonderland!

If you remember, I rented a condo in downtown Austin to ring in the New Year with this fabulous rental company. Click here to read about that trip. At the time, they were under the name “Top Trip Rentals”. Top Trip Rentals has rebranded to Lodgewell, and well we lodged indeed! Lodgewell and their incredible team will forever be my go to for destination home rentals in Texas. For this family trip we chose Lodgewell’s newest property, The Good Morning Ranch . The Good Morning Ranch is a Rural Ranch Retreat boasting 10 acres of unadulterated Texas Hill Country. It’s nestled down a dirt road just minutes outside of Wimberley, TX which is the CUTEST and COOLEST Texas town. You’ll feel like you’ve fallen off the grid which is exactly what I was looking for in this family vacay! When we walked through the door we were we were greeted with retro, GREEN kitchen cabinetry, vintage country music posters, quilts and mounted deer heads! So very Austin, and so very cool! The bag of chips and queso (and my FAVORITE salsa) on the counter made me smile from ear to ear. Lodgewell has a history of making me feel at home, and their amenity boxes did the trick!
